Our new design "El Pelado" is dedicated to the coach of AEK, Matias Almeida. This is a coach who has contributed to the high competitiveness of the Greek league. He created a team that plays modern and beautiful football, constantly claiming the lead in the race of the Greek championship. The 50-year-old coach came to AEK in the summer of 2022 and in his first season in the "Union" won the double, which was the first for the "yellow and black" after 1978! AEK came a breath away from the title last season as well, but did not succeed in the details, however his team will be one of the main contenders in the league and cup this year as well.
At the helm of AEK is now Marios Iliopoulos, who took on the demanding task of leading the "yellow and black" to the new day, after the successful tenure of Dimitris Melissanidis. The new owner of AEK has his own unique way of communicating with the media, while he is distinguished by extroversion and non politically correct behaviors. So at the end of the press conference in which he introduced himself to the AEK audience, he did not hesitate to address Almeida in an animated way, and even in Spanish.
Marios Iliopoulos said: "Stand up. We keep moving forward. Let's go for battles, go for the big moments. Let's go for the big idea of AEK. Force! Come here"!
